Words cannot express the thankfulness I have for your kind expression of love you showed me at our last worship concert. I was amazed at the delicious cake, cupcakes, beautiful flowers for my wife (for putting up with me all these years!) and the awesome basket of cards and gifts that you showered on me.

I have read every one of your cards (some more than once already) and laughed and cried at your kind words. I was overwhelmed with your generosity in the gifts you gave me. I have written down each of those gifts and who they are from so as I use a gift card, consume some great food, drink teh tarik from a Carolina mug, or interact with the gifts in other ways, I will think of you, my dear friends whom I care for very much.

I continue to grieve over the thought of not leading you next season, yet rejoice in the time I have to develop the new work rolling out this year and next. I pray that God will bless your upcoming year greatly and that your times of worship will continue to be refreshing, transformative and powerful.

There is a resurgence of choirs across our nation, and I can’t help but think the example you have set in the transformation you have made over the last years has been a catalyst to churches once again seeing the value of the choir in worship leadership. I hear the NC Baptist Singers and Orchestra talked about in so many places I go. I am so thankful for you!

My life verse, which I have shared with you on may occasions, is Psalm 67:5. Let the peoples praise you, O God. Let all the peoples praise you. This verse has driven my work with you these past years as I have seen you become a mighty army of praise. One of my new works this year is going to help me see this fulfilled in greater ways as I am able to equip worship leaders to go to the nations to equip worship leaders to better fulfill their calling. I covet your prayers.

I will be with you at the retreat this year and will pop in from time to time to your worship concerts. I thank God for each of you.

Kenny
